The Marketplace

Transactions

From the Buyer's end:

Buyers are able to use their credit card information on the application to purchase any items available for sale.

From the Seller's end:

Sellers are able to link their bank account to the platform. Whenever a purchase is completed, and the seller will receive the money in the specified bank account.

Once the exchange of the item is in progress, a transaction process will be initiated. This transactional process is a patented and conceptually-tested process that guarantees the Buyer will always receive their goods. Once this process is completed, the funds of the Buyer will be released to the Seller automatically.

Yes. Your information is encrypted and protected by the highest security measures available in the market. We also work closely with companies that are leaders within the financial services industry to ensure your safety on every step of the transaction process.

Buying

We utilize the services of a third party API to provide quick, secure, and reliable transactions between our users.

Anything! The app is optimized for finding course literature, however there are three other main sections in the marketplace.

Furnishings: Moving to a new apartment? Here you'll be able to find cheap furniture, anything from beds to desks.

Electronics: Any and all electronic appliances such as calculators, phones, laptops, chargers etc. are listed here.

Miscellaneous: Looking for something that doesn't fit the other categories? It can surely be found here!

If the seller has not responded to 3 different contact attempts on 3 different occasions within 7 days of the purchase, the seller will receive a demerit. After 2 seller demerits the person will be banned from the service.

A private communication channel will open between you and the Seller as soon as a purchase is made. Note that you have 7 days to sort out practicalities; if you are unable to reach a conclusion the purchase will fall through and the money will be returned to your account.

The purchase becomes legally binding when you start the transaction process.

Selling

Anything! The app is optimized for selling your old course literature, however there are three other main sections in the marketplace.

Furnishings: Moving out? List the furniture you aren't taking with you here, anything from beds to desks.

Electronics: Here you should list items that run on electricity or batteries, such as calculators, phones, laptops, chargers etc.

Miscellaneous: Want to get rid of something that doesn't fit the other categories? List it here!

Illegal items are prohibited on Kampus BuyBack. Furthermore, selling living creatures or food, things that might hurt someone, or items that are regulated by law, i.e. that are not allowed to be sold to people without a certain license, are also prohibited. We also request that all posts maintain a respectable quality.

Here are some examples of things that are not allowed:

  • Photos that do not show the item or the item is not clearly visible.
  • Photos you have not taken yourself.
  • Perishable items(food, drink, etc.).
  • Commercial advertising.
  • Photo or text containing a reference to another website, app or shop.
  • Items that are defective or of poor quality.
  • Any sort of provocative, erotic or pornographic items

The sale becomes legally binding at the time the transaction process is initiated.

If the buyer has not responded to 3 different contact attempts on 3 different occasions within 7 days of the purchase, the buyer will receive a demerit. After 3 buyer demerits the person will be banned from the service.

Disputes

For a Buyer to dispute the sale, one of the following must have occurred:

1. The Seller does not respond to contact efforts within 7 days of the initial purchase. The Buyer must have attempted to contact the seller at least 3 times on 3 different occasions within that time period.

2. The Seller does not show up.

3. The item is grossly different from what was advertised.

4. The Seller refused to give the item to the Buyer


For a Seller to dispute the sale, one of the following must have occurred:

1. The Buyer does not respond to contact efforts within 7 days of the initial purchase. The Seller must have attempted to contact the Buyer at least 3 times on 3 different occasions within that time period.

2. The Buyer does not show up.

3. The Buyer refused to give the Transaction Key to the Seller.

4. The Buyer refused to adhere to the Transaction Process, affecting the ability to complete the sale.

Disputes can be prevented by fulfilling the following guidelines:

Item Uploads

Provide a minimum of seven images of the item.

Accurately represent the item's current condition.

Provide a detailed task usage description, describing when the item was purchased, what it was used for, and the length of time it was used for.

Match the provided images to the item description. (i.e. if a particular damaged area is noted in the description, provide an image clearly showing the damage)

Ensure that the item operates as expected, or otherwise functions as advertised.(i.e. a laptop for sale must perform as new if no damage or performance degradation is advertised in the description.)

Never upload items that violate the Kampus BuyBack Terms of Service.


Conduct

Maintain a professional demeanor when responding to your Buyer or Seller.

Respond to messages in a timely manner.

Never share personal information with your Buyer or Seller.

Never attempt to disregard or circumvent the Transaction Process.
